Berkeley Nucleonics' Model 845 RF Microwave Signal Generator is a low-noise, fast-switching microwave signal generator with a frequency range from 100 kHz to 26.5 GHz (with optional frequency extension to 9 kHz).
The Model 845 Microwave RF Signal Generator provides a wide and accurate output power range and high spurious rejection. Advanced frequency synthesis with fractional-N dividers enables low SSB phase noise and micro-Hz frequency resolution.
Type 845 is now available in 12, 20 and 26.5 GHz frequencies. Additionally, the Model 845 can be customized and configured to each user's specific needs. Available in HP (High Output Power), LO (CW only, no modulation – 20 GHz and 26.5 GHz only) and R (1U rack mount configuration). The Model 845 Microwave RF Signal Generator also includes AM, DC coupled, low distortion wideband - FM, PM, FSK and PSK, frequency chirp and fast pulse modulation, with an internal pulse sequence generator as standard. There are three internal modulation sources that can combine all modulation modes. This allows the generation of complex modulated signals for modern communications and positioning systems.
The Model 845 is ideal for applications requiring a high quality CW microwave source with analog modulation. The Model 845 features an ultra-stable temperature-compensated 100 MHz voltage reference (OCXO) that can be phase-locked to any external reference voltage from 1 to 250 MHz. Additionally, the combination of pulse modulation and FM simulates the Doppler effect or chirp signal. Both AM and pulse modulation provide the type of signals that occur in pulsed radar applications using rotating antennas. In addition, the combination of FM and AM can be used to check the fading effects of FM receivers.
Model 845 is available on-line or battery powered so it can be used in field applications or large laboratories. While the Model 845 Microwave/RF Signal Generator introduces the smallest size in its class, it can clearly fill the largest shoes!
